Stillwater Sciences. 2012. 2012 Vegetation monitoring of the Napa River Flood Protection Project, Napa Valley, California. Prepared by Stillwater Sciences, Berkeley, California for Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Napa, California.

As part of the Napa River Flood Protection Project, the Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (NCFCWCD) is monitoring the development of restored wetland habitats and vegetation in the Project Area.  This flood control and river restoration project was designed in 1998 by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and implemented in phases beginning in 2001 and continuing through 2013. Results of 2012 field surveys conducted by Stillwater Sciences (2012) on behalf of NCFCWCD are presented, as well as habitat mapping results from previous monitoring years (2004 and 2008, completed for USACE) for comparison.

How to use this map
Click on a sample point symbol on the map to get percent cover for each plant species documented in each plot, salinity measurements, and location coordinates. Click on a photo point symbol on the map to view a photograph taken at that location. View habitat mapping data from three monitoring years by clicking next to the desired monitoring year; once the habitat mapping data is showing, click on a polygon to obtain the habitat type (or click on “legend” to view the colors associated with all habitat types).

Note that whatever layer is clicked on last displays as the top data layer. To zoom in and out, use the + and – symbols on the left side of the map. To move to a different location on the map either click on the map and drag to desired location, or use the arrow symbols to navigate. For more information on using google maps click here.
